HuSArctic representation at ICASS

Dr. Cambou gave a talk at the 9th International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences (ICASS IX) held in Umeå University, in Sweden, from 8-12 June 2017. ICASS is held every three years, bringing together people from all over the world to share ideas about social science and humanities research in the Arctic. About 800 participants were present this year for this event, which focused this time on the topic of ‘peoples and place’. In her presentation, Dr. Cambou talked about the drafting process of the proposed Nordic Sami Convention and highlighted its importance for ensuring the human rights of the Sami people, a topic on significance to promote societal security in the Barents region.
