HuSArctic well represented at the conference “Understanding Sovereignty and Security in the Circumpolar Arctic”

HuSArctic was well represented at the conference – Understanding Sovereignty and Security in the Circumpolar Arctic – organized at the Campbell Conference Facility at the University of Toronto (Canada) from 25-26 January 2016. Renowned scholars from Europe and North America with expertise in security studies have shared their views about the dynamics and future trends of Arctic security. Papers covered a wide range of topics, touching upon almost all aspects of Arctic security from military security to maritime security, environmental security to energy security, food security to human and community security as well as the interconnectedness of sovereignty and security in relation to the Arctic.

The conference was organized by Professor Whitney Lackenbauer and Mr. Will Greaves, who both collaborate with the HuSArctic project. As invited speakers Dr. Kamrul Hossain and doctoral researcher Tahnee Prior spoke at the International Law session in the conference.
