HuSArctic lead Prof. Kamrul Hossain has given a talk at the International Conference on Envisioning our Common Future held at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh from 22-23 December 2016. Renowned scholars from home and abroad have brought new ideas to mitigate common challenges that affect the globe at large. The conference has been motivated to build a knowledge-based society by which scientific information on societal challenges are shared and subsequently tackled in a pro-active manner based on possible visionary approaches. Prof. Hossain’s presentation entitled: “Implications of climate change: North-South human security dilemma” highlighted particularly the impact of climate change where he brought human security questions prevalent at the global south as well as at the global north. He particularly showed the inter-connections of human security challenges having impacts in all across the globe as common threats resulted from the implications of climate change.
