The HuSArctic project ended in December 2018, and the contents of the website will not recieve further updates.
However, until further notice the website will stay online, so the project’s activities and outcomes remain accessible.
HuSArctic team member Anna Petrétei had the chance to join a doctoral school trip, and to attend several seminars in China.
Last week HuSArctic researcher Gerald Zojer joined this year’s edition of the annual traveling symposium 'Calotte Academy'. The overarching topic was Resources and Security in the Globalized Arctic, and the sessions were held various northern cities within Finland, Norway, and the Russian Federation.
Dr Kamrul Hossain represented HuSArctic at the conference ‘Culture on the Move: Migration, Living traditions and cultural heritage protection’ at Brunel University London, School of Law.
Dr. Kamrul Hossain represented HuSArctic at the Workshop “Society, integrity and cyber security” held at the Thistle City Barbican Hotel in London from 12-13 May 2015. A brief summary of the event.
The research seminar on mining and environmental impact assessment (EIA) brought together researchers from different countries and disciplines. The event was organized by the University of Eastern Finland on 7-8 May 2015. The Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law was represented by Anna Petrétei. Mining research is one of the core topics of the HuSArctic project, as extractive industrial activities are amongst the main security threats within our focus area.
