The HuSArctic project ended in December 2018, and the contents of the website will not recieve further updates.
However, until further notice the website will stay online, so the project’s activities and outcomes remain accessible.
In late August, HuSArctic team member Stefan Kirchner participated in a Skillshare on climate change organized by 350.org<http://350.org> and Sámi activists in Jokkmokk (Jåhkåmåhkke / Dálvvadis), on the Swedish side of Sápmi.
On September 21, 2015, Dr. Kamrul Hossain has given another talk held at the Ainu Centre located in Sapporo, Japan. The tile of the talk was "International Human Rights Law with Focus on Indigenous Peoples: A look for the promotion of the Ainu rights". It was organized by the Sapporo Ainu Association.
On September 18, 2015 Dr. Kamrul Hossain has given a guest lecture at the newly established Arctic Research Centre at the Hokkaido University. The title of his talk was “Governance of the Arctic: What future do we see?”
Researcher Laura Siragusa has published two new socio-linguisitic articles realting to the Vepsian language in north-western Russia, which both are available online.
Today we published the first edition of our HuSArctic newsletter. The newsletter contains a brief introduction of the project, gives a short overview over the most important activities that have been carried out so far, and gives space for the introduction of some researchers who contribute to the project.
